Privacy policy
BudgetCat is a budgeting app designed to help you track spending, savings, and recurring money activity. This Privacy Policy explains what information BudgetCat handles, how it is used, and the choices you have.
1. Information you provide in the app
When you use BudgetCat, you may enter information such as:
- transactions, categories, budgets, savings goals, recurring items, notes, and account names
- optional receipt photos or receipt attachments
- optional account information for cloud-connected features, such as your email address
Most budgeting information is stored locally on your device unless you choose to use optional cloud-connected features.
2. Camera and photo access
BudgetCat may request access to your camera or photo library only when you choose to attach a receipt or take a receipt photo.
- Camera access is used only to capture receipt images you choose to add.
- Photo library access is used only to let you select images you choose to attach.
BudgetCat does not access your camera or photos unless you initiate those actions.
3. Optional cloud sync and backup
BudgetCat may offer optional cloud-connected features such as account sign-in, backup, and sync. If you use those features, information associated with your budget data may be transmitted to cloud services you choose to use with the app.
These features may include:
- authentication through Supabase
- backup or sync of budgeting data associated with your account
If you do not use cloud-connected features, your budgeting data can remain local to your device except when you choose to export or share a backup yourself.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
BudgetCat may offer in-app purchases and subscriptions, including Pro features and backup-related features.
Purchases are processed by the Google Play Store and related billing providers, including RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement management. BudgetCat does not receive your full payment card details. BudgetCat may receive purchase status, entitlement status, product identifiers, and related account or transaction metadata needed to unlock paid features, restore purchases, and manage subscription access.
5. How information is used
BudgetCat uses information to:
- provide budgeting, savings, and planning features

You control much of your data through the app itself. Depending on the feature you use, you may be able to:
- edit or delete budgeting records on your device

Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it, remove the app, or overwrite it. Data associated with optional cloud features may remain in connected services until deleted through those services or the app functionality that manages them.
